And its "Goodbye!" from Him....
Thank you to our customers
It is with the deepest regret that I have to communicate to you the immediate closure of Littlemoors Farm Shop. I'm quite sure that this email will come as a big shock to many of you, but to those who have been or are in business, you may have spotted the signs already.Your first reaction may be 'but why, it was doing so well'. I only wish that were true. Julia, the entire team, past and present, have worked incredibly hard to bring the business to profit, but contrary to what I hope has been a professional exterior, internally we have never succeeded. There comes a time for a business such as this, when cashflow simply runs out, investment to kickstart marketing or create new projects is either non existent, unwise or in our case, both. A business owner has to face up to options which may be getting fewer and fewer. I have reached such a point. I have not wanted to go through the agony that Jenny Goldsack must have endured by winding down Goldys, with knock down prices clearing stock and a half empty shop and in my own cowardly way, having to face customers whom I have come to know and love very dearly and who I know that I am now letting down. Far better for me to close swiftly and allow professionals to handle their job.
So, there it is.
My huge thanks have to go to my dedicated and lovely team, both past and present, with whom we embarked on this voyage and on the most part have made it the enjoyable experience that it has been. Also to 'she who must be obeyed' who works tirelessly behind the scenes and is very definetly my granite rock and to our 2 other shareholders who have lost the most in terms of hard cash from this project. I'm really sorry that it hasnt done what it said on the tin! The same apologies go to any of our suppliers who have been affected by this. I've tried to keep the effects as minimal as possible.
Then to you, our lovely customers, who have supported us day in day out, come into the shop with your stories, shared with us your habits and opinions and kept us here for as long as you have. To you, a massive thank you. For me personally, I am not disappearing completely. I still have a blueberry harvest to run. Fortunately our blueberry business has always been kept completely separate from the farm shop and is unaffected. You will still see me at farmers markets and shows and I will be devoting my energy into selling blueberry and camellia plants for a living. From Littlemoors, its Thank you...and Goodnight.
